Panch Kedar Temples of the Hindu religion in Uttarakhand

Then he tried to capture that bull’s tail but then the bull was divided into 5 parts and reappeared as Panch Kedar. Those holy places are named according to the hump raising in Kedarnath, the arms showing in Tungnath, the face placed at Rudranath, the nabhi (navel) and stomach surfacing in Madhyamaheshwar and the hair appearing in Kalpeshwar.

Kedarnath:

Kedarnath temple is an ancient temple formed by Pandavas before 1200 years and it is one of the 12 jyotirlingas. This historical magical temple is situated at a height of 6,940 meters. It was made up of big, heavy, and gray pieces of stone, which makes the structure masterpiece. There are times divided to visiting this temple, the temple closes on the first day of Kartik (October-November) and reopens in Vaishakh (April-May) every year. One of the reasons for closing this temple is heavy snowfall which closes the roads of Kedarnath and also makes danger to life.

Tungnath:

It is the highest temple of lord Shiva located at an altitude of 3690 meters situated on Chandranath Parvat. Its trekking starts from the Village Chopta. Tungnath is the other word for “gods of mountains.” This Temple shows the love of Lord Shiva toward nature.

Rudranath:

This holy temple is the third temple of Panch Kedar located at 3,600 meters in the Garhwal Mountains in Uttarakhand. The face of lord shiva was placed here and this place is worshiped as “Neelakantha Mahadeva”. This place takes near about a trek of 25km.

Madhyamaheshwar:

This is the fourth lord shiva’s dedicated temple of Panch Kedar on the hills of 3497 meters in the Garhwal region. It is said that lord shiva’s stomach was placed here when he got separated from his body and brahmins worships him. The belly part of lord shivas is worshiped here.

Kalpeshwar:

Kalpeshwar Temple is a Hindu temple of Lord Shiva situated at Urgam, Chamoli district of Garhwal, Uttarakhand situated on the peaks of 2,200 meters. It is believed that when Lord Shiva disperse then his hair appeared in Kalpeshwar. The temple was formed by Pandavas in ancient times with a northern style of architecture. So that’s why this temple is also known as Jateshwar because ‘Jata’ means hair.
